Cave Canem publishes an annual anthology of poems by fellows and faculty who participate in the workshop/retreats. Our Anniversary Anthology, Gathering Ground: A Reader Celebrating Cave Canem's First Decade, published by the University of Michigan Press in Spring 2006, will contain the work of faculty and fellows over the past ten years.
Cave Canem fellows are at different stages in their writing careers. Some can be found on the Internet or have published books and chapbooks. Others are just beginning to have their work accepted for publication. Journals featuring Cave Canem poets include Drumvoices Revue and special sections of Obsidian III and Callaloo. Anthologies include Step Into a World: A Global Anthology of New Black Literature, Beyond the Frontier: African American Poetry for the 21st Century, Giant Steps: The New Generation of African American Writers, and Bum Rush the Page: A Def Poetry Jam.
